Artist Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merpres (1880–1958) came to Bali in 1932. He got married with the pretty few years later . They lived in this compound which is now a building of Le Mayeur Museum .

After artist’s death, his wife lived in the place and died in 1985. Inspite of security ( paintings of him are sold for US$150,000) and conservation problems, 90 of Le Mayeur’s paintings are still displayed here .

Sanur has a ‘ghostly town’ on Padang Galak Beach just few Kms from Sanur . It’s the huge disintegration of Taman Festival Bali, a favourite location for photographers looking for a baren land or an area for photography .

It isn’t known for certain as to why this grand theme park was deserted by the owners before it ever even opened. Some reports say the owners abandoned ship after fearing it would become unprofitable following the 2002 Bali terrorist attacks.
