Hey everyone, I am Ramyashri from Bangaluru and today in this article I am going to mention our 7 days Finland tour from India. Me and my husband traveled to Finland in February 2025 through Lestacworld holiday planners. I am going to mention all the positives and negatives we experienced during this tour.
Lestacworld’s team convinced us to share our experience through this article, and we agreed in the hope that, if not everyone, at least someone will find it helpful in planning their Finland tour from India.
Our Introduction
As I mentioned earlier, I am Ramyashri from the southern part of India. My husband, Puneeth, and I went on a 7 days Finland tour from India. I am a housewife, and Puneeth runs his family’s trading business. This was our sixth trip to Europe in the last four years. We had already visited most major tourist destinations in Europe, except for Scandinavia. In short, we are frequent travelers and well-versed in all aspects of travel.
Our Planning Stage of Finland tour
So, this time we knew that we wanted to cover Scandinavia, but the perfect itinerary for February was yet to be discovered. From what we initially understood, there are two types of itineraries to explore Scandinavia in February. One itinerary focuses on exploring the capital cities of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. The other, which we chose, is dedicated to hunting the northern lights in the Lapland region.
We actually had a discussion about it, and we both got attracted towards the Northern Lights hunt and the Icebreaker cruise experience. Another dilemma was choosing the right Lapland region in Scandinavia. We had the option of visiting Norway or Finland for the Northern Lights tour.
In Norway, Tromsø would have been our base, allowing us to explore nearby islands. However, we chose Finland because it offers unique experiences like staying in an igloo room and the Icebreaker cruise.
No, neither I nor Puneeth had all this knowledge about the region. We actually got this from Google from Aryan, our assigned executive at Lestacworld.
How we connected with Lestacworld for our Finland tour from India
One of my mother-in-law’s good childhood friends went to Finland in 2024 through Lestacworld. They were so impressed that these were their words to my mother-in-law: “I think you should not see anywhere else, as Lestacworld is the best travel agency for Finland in India.”
When I heard it, I got to know that they had the good experience, but we usually explore options before finalizing anything. So yeah, we contacted Aryan and some other travel agencies. This was the time, our 7days Finland tour planning got started.
7 days Finland tour from India Itinerary
Day 1: Our first day in Helsinki
On 13th Feb, we arrived in Heslinki around 15:00 and got transferred to the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Helsinki central. The hotel was perfectly located but the rooms were small. This day was free for us to take a rest and gather energy for our next activities.
Day 2: Our flight from Rovaniemi to Ivalo to check in to Igloo resort in Saariselka
On Day 2 of our 7-day Finland tour from India, we had breakfast in the hotel, which was already included. The breakfast was good; we are not vegetarians, so we enjoyed it to the fullest. Around 12:30 PM, we were picked up for the airport in a black Mercedes perfectly maintained. It was the time of our flight to Ivalo, the city in Finnish Lapland. It was a Finnair flight and was included in the package.
As our flight descended into Ivalo Airport, we were greeted by a breathtaking sight—a vast white blanket of snow stretching as far as the eye could see. This was something we experienced for the first time, and it was unbelievable.
After landing at Ivalo airport, we were picked for our stay in Kakslauttanen arctic resort. The most famous Igloo resort in the Saarisleka region of Finnish Lapland. It was again the unique thing we experienced today. We were given the highest category of Igloo rooms, which is Kelo Igloo. Usually, igloo’s have glass structures only, but this was a mix of wooden structures and glass structures. We were very happy with the room. And only for this stay did we have dinner included in the resort. We thoroughly enjoyed this resort experience this day. The bad part was the weather, as there were no northern lights show this night for us.
Day 3: We enjoyed Snowmobile Safari, missed Reindeer Aurora Hunting but witnessed northern lights from Igloo
On 15th February, we had our Finnish breakfast in the resort and we were going to stay in this resort for another night. So we were happy. We had 2 snowmobile safaris in our package that started around 13:00 hours for us. It was too cold for us; it was -17 degrees. The activity was organized by the resort and it was good fun. Though we felt that reindeer Aurora Hunt Safari should also have been added in the package. When we tried to book it for us, we came to know that there were no slots left. When I showed my concern to Lestacworld, they told me that they usually don’t book night tours in Saarisleka as there are more chances of cancellations due to weather. My point here is that travelers should at least get information. We really wanted to do this activity.
After this spoiler, we got something good. Guess what? We saw northern lights right from our room that night. There were alarms all around. Tourists who were seeing it for the first time were so happy that the whole environment got blown up.

Day 4: Travelled from Saariselka to Rovaniemi and enjoyed Northern lights hunt tour by bus
On day 4, that is, 16th February, it was the time for us to travel from Saariselka to Rovaniemi. After breakfast, we had to leave our amazing Igloo room and start a journey of 3 hours to Rovaneimi. It was a Mercedes car. I must say Lestacworld has good cars to offer in Finland. This car journey was from the small villages and outskirts. Finland is blessed with nature and I have never seen any country more beautiful than Finland. And when you do these types of journeys, you get to know this.
We reached the Rovaniemi hotel around 14:00, but then we came to know that our Scadic hotel allows checkin at 16:00. This could have been planned better. I mean, who, after 3 hours of journey, would want to wait at the hotel lobby? They could have arranged our transfers late from Saariselka and I gave them this feedback.
Anyways, we had some food and explored Rovaniemi City for some time. It was a normal hotel, as expected in a cute little city center. We checked in and had rest for 3 hours. Our dinner was not included in this stay. We quickly had our food and went to the pickup point for the Northern Lights hunt tour. The pickup point was around an 8-minute walk from the hotel. We sat in the bus and they took us to the non-light-polluted areas. We were fortunate enough to see the northern lights again here.
Day 5: We enjoyed full-day icebreaker cruise
On Day 5, we went for an icebreaker cruise. It was a 3-hour bus ride to Kemi from pickup in front of our hotel. The bus stopped at a point for food, and we realized that our food is not included in the package. We should have been informed about it and made this point to Aryan. After that, we boarded the cruise and did a full tour of it. The best part was floating on the frozen sea. We reached our hotel in Rovaniemi around 19:30. The bus rides were tiring, although we enjoyed the outcome. It was one of the best days of our 7 days Finland tour package.

Day 6: Visited Santa Claus Village and took flight from Rovaniemi to Helsinki
Day 6 was our last day in Lapland. This day we had breakfast and checked out of the hotel. We kept our bags in the hotel locker room. And around 6 we were picked for Santa Claus Village. It was around a 15-minute ride from our hotel.
After arriving at Santa Claus Village, we headed straight to the Arctic Circle Line, where a live camera streams the area on YouTube. It was exciting to see the spot being broadcast in real-time. I called my family members and my best friend and asked them to see me.
After that, we visited Santa Claus at the post office and explored the amusement park. Lestacworld had included entry tickets to Snowman World for us, along with a 500-meter husky sledge ride. We spent around 2 hours at Snowman man world and around 13:00 was our slot for Husky Sledge. It was a short ride and took only 15 minutes of ours. Around 14:00, we started back to our hotel for our bags. Our flight time was 18:00. This flight from Rovaniemi to Helsinki was also included in our 7 days Finland tour from India.
After arriving in Helsinki, we were picked up from the airport and dropped off at the Radisson Blu Plaza. We checked in to the hotel and slept for the day.
Day 7: End of our 7 days Finland tour from India
On 19th February, we had breakfast and were dropped off at the airport. We took the Finnairt flight from our dream wonderland. This was the end of our 7 days Finland tour from India; we might cherish these memories for the rest of our lives.
Lestacworld Review for Finland tour
Well, you must have predicted my review after reading the above experience. I won’t say it was perfect, but I would definitely say it was far better than what other big companies offer. I actually want to represent the goods and bad in a comparison table.
Here’s a table summarizing the good and bad points of Lestacworld’s service based on the article:
Good Points | Bad Points |
---|---|
Personalized itinerary planning tailored for Northern Lights and Icebreaker cruise. | Lack of proper communication for optional activities like Reindeer Aurora Hunting, leading to missed experiences. |
Well-maintained and comfortable transfer vehicles. | Hotel check-in timing issue in Rovaniemi, causing a wait. |
High-quality accommodations, including premium stays like Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. | Food was not included for us , on the way to Kemi for ice breaker. |
Were very much approachable with quick responses |
