Is it safe/recommended to travel to Azerbaijan in 2021.In early 2020, Azerbiajan and Armenia went into war . The war took place because of disputed enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh . In 2020 Azerbaijan tourism was hit with War and COVID 19. Though 2020 was quite difficult for Azerbaijan due to COVID but they were able to put an end to the war 🙂

Is it safe/recommended to travel to Azerbaijan in [2021]

A ceasefire agreement has been signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan to end the military action in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Some territory under Azerbaijani control post-conflict was closed to the general public .As part of the agreement a Russian peacekeeping operation has been deployed to the area and will monitor Armenian populated areas of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Lachin Corridor.

Talking about the other tourist places in Azerbaijan , it is totally safe to travel to the cities like Baku , Sheki etc .

Mud Volcano

It is Lying close together in the open desert, practically in the middle of emptiness, these little craters are charming.Resembling like a quicksand, the big is the most interesting of all. They are bubbling and it takes a while to catch an image of a big bubble.

Absheron National Park

Absheron National Park is a national park of Azerbaijan in the Caspian Hyrcanian mixed forests’ ecoregion. It was established on the 8th of February 2005, on an area of 783 hectares in the administrative territory of the District of Azizbeyov in the City of Baku, on the base of Absheron State Nature Preserve.

Baku

Baku, the capital and commercial hub of Azerbaijan, is a low-lying city with coastline along the Caspian Sea. It’s famed for its medieval walled old city, which contains the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, a vast royal complex, and the iconic stone Maiden Tower.

Astara

It is a city and capital of Astara County, Gilan Province, Iran. It is at the border with Azerbaijan and on the Caspian Sea. It is quite busy border trade center between Iran and the Caucasus.

Sheki

It is a city in Azerbaijan, in the rayon of the same name. Shaki is in northern Azerbaijan on the southern part of the Greater Caucasus mountain range, 240 km from Baku. Shaki’s population is around 63,000.

Quba

It is a city in and the capital of the Quba Rayon of Azerbaijan. This city is on the north-eastern slopes of Shahdag mountain and is at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level ! It is located on the right bank of the Kudyal river.

Goyazan Mountain

It is a mountain in the Qazakh District of Azerbaijan. It is located in the vicinity of the villages Abbasbeyli and Alpout . Ruins of a Goyazan fortress from the 14th century were found near the mountain.
