Lida

It is a city in western Belarus. It appeared around in 13th century as a fortified point of the Lithuanian duke Gediminas on the border between the principality of Hrodna and the grand duchy of Lithuania.

The city in due course passed to Poland and then to Russia (1795). It returned to Poland in 1919 but was surrendered to the Soviet Union in 1945.

Lida was a famous trading centre but then became a centre for food operations, agricultural machine establishments and electrical engineering industries.

This museum is located in the Brest city of Belarus. This museum is focused around an archaeological site showcasing an original East Slavic wooden of 13th century.

This was opened on Marc 1982. It displays protected 28 log cabins, and around 1400 artifacts of10th and 14th centuries which were excavated.

This 1800 square meter in size site was hollow out by archeologists of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences in between 1968 and 1981.

This programme was superintended by Dr.P.F.Lysenko. A modern construction of solid, glass and aluminum in the shape of a big arena roof was plum over this archeological site.
